We’ve all, audiences and creatives, have had to make do with solitary zoom-based, and radio theatre since the pandemic hit. But there is light at the end of the mask-wearing, hand-sanitising, stranger-fearing, self-diagnosing, Covid-ridden tunnel.
Belfast’s Three’s Company Theatre has announced a two performance, one night only of innovative live outdoor theatre experience called Through The Window.

Funded by Community Foundation NI, the production uses multi-channel radio headphones so audiences can choose from one of five journeys, each journey offering a different experience.
The performances blend live and pre-recorded material and audiences experience a variety of stories by actors – and this is where the show gets its apt name – through the window of The MAC Theatre, Belfast.
The theatre company runs on to promise audiences will ‘meet a range of characters as they share their stories through windows and earphones; from new mothers to older loves, Through The Window is filled with moments of joy and sorrow that a lifetime can bring. Through The Window shares with audiences the dreams we have dreamt during this period of isolation in a blend of rich characters, transportive sound design and live performance we are looking at the different of connection and isolation we experience as human beings and the impact of both on our lives.’
Anna Leckey from Three’s Theatre Company said: “After the year we’ve all had, we are excited to be presenting brand new work and get back to live theatre. This is our biggest logistical challenge yet; choose from one of several different stories, experiencing different stories whilst exploring The MAC from a different perspective. Whilst we can’t be inside the theatre, just yet, we’re giving you plenty to enjoy and experience all round it. We are grateful for the support of The MAC and the Community Fund NI to help us bring our new work to audiences.”

The MAC’s Anna Leckey added: “We’re delighted to welcome Three’s Theatre back to The MAC with this very timely show. It’s always exciting to work with them and their ingenious ideas, breaking down barriers , and opening up an opportunity for audiences to enjoy a live event experience outside the four walls of the theatre.”
Through The Window will run on July 27, 2021 at 5.30pm and 7.15pm. Tickets are £16 (plus booking fee) and the age guidance is 14+ (some strong language and adult references).
