Illusionist and king of mind control, Derren Brown is to bring his first show to Belfast for the first time in six years. Brown started performing in 1992 and first hit our TV screens in 2000 with his hit Derren Brown: Mind Control. Since then won two Oliviers for best entertainment and written books for both magicians and the general public alike.

Unlike many illusionists Brown doesn’t claim to have ‘supernatural powers’. In fact his show runs contrary to that belief and Brown has always claimed to try and expose who claim to have such powers such as faith healers and mediums.

I don’t know about you, but I for one always get a little creeped out when watching him on the tele; that’s why it’ll be interesting to see how he works on a stage, live and in front on my eyes.
Brown claims that his ‘show’ is a mixture of, ‘magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship’.

If you want to be creeped out, amazed, enthralled and grippingly entertained, Derren Brown: Showman may just be the show for you.
Derren Brown: Showman runs at the Grand Opera House from April 19 – April 23, 2022.
